Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Kesehatan undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with the author guidelines, and basic academic and ethical requirements.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent peer reviewers with relevant expertise. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process.

Peer reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the originality, relevance to community needs, quality of the community service program, appropriateness of the implementation methods, outcomes and impact, clarity of presentation, ethical considerations, and contribution to community health. Reviewers provide comments and recommendations to assist the editor in making the final editorial decision.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the editor’s assessment, the manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

• Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further revision.
• Minor Revision: The manuscript requires minor revisions before it can be accepted.
• Major Revision / Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires substantial revision and may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation.
• Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.

The final decision regarding publication is made by the editor based on the reviewers’ comments, the quality of the revised manuscript, and the journal’s editorial policies. Authors may be required to revise their manuscripts more than once before a final decision is reached.

The journal reserves the right to reject a manuscript at any stage if it does not meet the journal’s academic, ethical, or editorial requirements.
