Abstract

The digital transformation in the education sector has created new opportunities for delivering health education, particularly among adolescents who are highly engaged with digital media. Animated video is considered an effective educational medium because it combines visual and audio elements that facilitate message clarity and audience engagement. This community service activity aimed to improve the capacity of senior high school and vocational health school students in developing health education content in the form of animated videos. The activity was conducted at the Faculty of Health and Technology Sciences, Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani Cimahi, involving 45 students from 11 SMA/SMK health schools in Cimahi City. The training was implemented in a one-day session on September 13, 2025, using lecture, demonstration, simulation, and hands-on practice methods. Participants were guided to design and edit animated educational videos using the Canva application. Evaluation was carried out through observation and assessment of participants’ skills before and after the training, based on the quality of the animated content produced. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of health education principles, digital communication, and basic video animation techniques. In conclusion, this community service activity demonstrates that animated video training is a feasible and applicable approach to supporting school-based health promotion and enhancing students’ digital health literacy.
